Introduction
Who are we?
Heatcraft Australia is the country's leading manufacturing and wholesale distribution business catering for the refrigeration and air conditioning trades. We employ over 700 people and have more than 60 branch outlets across Australia and New Zealand with manufacturing facilities in Sydney and Auckland.
Our vision is to lead the market in temperature and climate control solutions.
Where did we come from?
Heatcraft Australia was formed following the purchase of two of Australia's most powerful refrigeration wholesale distribution companies:
- Lovelocks was acquired in 1998 from Email Pty Ltd
- Kirby was acquired in 1999 from James N Kirby Pty Ltd
Kirby history dates back to 1923 where James N Kirby founded a small motorcycle repair business that, by the 1940's, diversified into a major manufacturer of refrigeration compressors and units selling to OEM and wholesale markets. Kirby made the move into refrigeration wholesaling in 1985.
Lovelocks history began in 1934 when Fred Lovelock formed F.C. Lovelock, becoming the first refrigeration wholesaler in the country. In 1991 Lovelock Luke, as they were known, merged with Email Air giving a broad refrigeration and air conditioning portfolio.
In 2004 Lovelocks and Kirby Wholesale commenced trading as Heatcraft and our slogan One Company-One Team-Leading Brands was born.
Where are we going?
Heatcraft Australia Pty Ltd forms the base operations of Heatcraft Worldwide Refrigeration in the Asia Pacific region and was formed to consolidate all of Lennox International Inc. (U.S.A.) acquisitions in Australia and New Zealand that resulted from their strategic global expansion programme commenced in 1995.
Heatcraft Worldwide Refrigeration was officially formed in 2002 in an effort to join all of the Lennox refrigeration operations and product brands under a common global identity.
Heatcraft Australia maintains an enviable and proud history in the Australian refrigeration and air conditioning industries as a result of the amalgamation of several respected and reputable organisations. These include James N. Kirby (Kirby Refrigeration), Lovelocks, F. Muller and Lennox Alcair. It includes also the operational business units of Heatcraft Refrigeration Products (manufacturing, OEM sales, engineering etc), Kirby and Lovelocks (wholesaling distribution). These operations are supported by a wide range of centralised corporate services including Business Excellence, Information Technology, Research & Development, Finance & Administration, Quality Assurance, Finance, Supply Chain etc.
Quality, in it's overall sense, has always been of primary importance and a major competitive advantage to each of these businesses and this remains so in the "new" organisation.
Today Heatcraft Australia is expanding its regional presence. Our head office based in Sydney, Australia gives us opportunities to support this growth in Asia and the potential to export to these markets.
